"DJ's" and hipster "Promoters" from the underground-electronic-music scene in San Diego County compete against each other in business management and music production settings hoping to book shows for Electrixx in major US night clubs and go on tour and open for ELECTRIXX, a globally recognized European giant in the electro-house music scene.
Last year, alone, Electrixx ranked #1 on "BeatPort.com" for a month straight and held 4 tracks in the Top 100 BeatPort Charts throughout 2009, more than David Guetta or Tiesto. Electrixx, from Berlin Germany, is touring the USA for the first time ever and is excited to bring its music production skill set to the USA.
Each contestant that successfully books a show for ELECTRIXX, will then choose between receiving a standard booking fee or risking it all in on national television in front of a panel of "judges" consisting of qualified DJ's and musicians including Chuck Prada, who will join the MDC DJ Academy and scrutinize the DJ performances. The contestants that are "Certified Dope" move on to the next round and qualify to go on tour and open for Electrixx.
Along the way, credits are given to the contestants, awarding free DJ Lessons from some of Southern California’s dopest electro house DJ's and music producers.
